Get ready for an extraordinary musical journey that will captivate audiences of all ages and fill your heart with the joy of the season. The concert's centerpiece will be a live performance of the soundtrack to the beloved British animated classic The Snowman, projected on the big screen while the Triangle Wind Ensemble provides the musical accompaniment. This heartwarming work is paired with a performance of John Mackey's  gorgeous composition Sheltering Sky, coupled with an original animation that also conveys a spirit of hope and generosity very appropriate for the holiday season.  And that's not all! The program will be sprinkled with an array of holiday favorites sure to delight musicians and audience alike.

Meet Our Soloists

V Valencia - Vocal Soloist, "The Snowman" @ Cary Arts Center, Sunday, December 10, 2023
​Hello! I am V Valencia. I am 15yrs old and currently in 10th grade at Eno River Academy. I’m a member of the North Carolina Boys and Girls Choir. I am happy and privilege to get the chance to sing with the Triangle Wind Ensemble this year!
Eden Rosenbaum - Vocal Soloist, "Christmas on Broadway" & "The Christmas Song"
Eden Rosenbaum is a junior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is a psychology and vocal performance double-major. She has enjoyed being a member of the UNC Opera Ensemble performing roles such as Laurie Moss (Copland’s The Tender Land), the Dew Fairy (Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel), and Zerlina (Don Giovanni). Recently, she has qualified for the National NATS competition as well as performed as the soprano soloist in “The Mending Sampler”, a new music project about the first woman to sue for sexual assault.​

Chicago native Dawn Christine Jonckowski grew up as a hardcore band geek who just happened to sing. A surprise casting as a lead in her high school's musical (as the villain, no less!) led Dawn to later add voice lessons in college. She was the lead vocalist with a Chicago area swing band for over a decade and has served as the worship leader at several churches. After a brief (and cold) stint in Wisconsin, Dawn is happy to be back in North Carolina---and playing/singing with TWE.
