Shadows Unleashed Animation Project

In celebration of our 25th Season, the Triangle Wind Ensemble commissioned NCSU professor Marc Russo for a sequel to our Sheltering Sky Animation project, this time using the wonderful Brian Balmages composition Shadows Unleashed as the source music.

The final Shadows Unleashed animation will be premiered at TWE's 25th Anniversary Concert on April 26, 2026 in the Cary Arts Center in Cary, NC. 

After its completion, this animation will be made available to the wind band community as a whole so that their ensembles and audiences can share in the experience that is this Shadows Unleashed Project.

K-12 school band programs across the country and world will have access to the film for free, and other groups for a small fee For more information about screening the animation during your group's performance, please email us at [email protected].
